Dealing with BT

Many of our customers complain that it has become increasingly difficult to deal with British Telecom. Simple tasks like asking for an exact appointment time becomes impossible.  The best they seem to be able to offer is an AM or PM appointment. Sometimes they give an all day appointment. Very helpful!!  I cant think of any other company that would get away with this. While I might sound as if I hate BT I really don’t. I have huge regard for the skill of the engineers who do a great job. I feel the gun sight should be more on the management of those engineers and their time.One of the services we provide our customers  is to deal with BT on your behalf. We meet the engineer and make sure he or she   is fully briefed on what he or she needs to do. When he turns up outside your office at 8am we make sure he does not drop your appointment and move on to the next appointment  because you had the cheek to open at 9 am! Believe me this happens. You then find you have to wait for days for a new appointment. If you are planning to install lines make sure you are ready for the engineer don’t assume thing will happen by themselves. Make them a cup of tea and don’t take your frustration out on the engineer. Complain to management!
